The man portrayed as Charles Lounsbury was an old inmate of the County Poorhouse. Despite his sufferings and buffetings, devoid of worldly good and in the face of adversity, he still retained the unquenchable spirit of brotherliness to the end. After his death, his Will, written in a clear hand on a few scraps of paper, was found in the pocket of an old worn coat.
