William Morrow and Company, New York: 1928. h Hardcover, no dustjacket. Good condition.
The stories in this volume are of the southern Albanian, or Tosk, dialect and come from two collections both made by foreigners. The five shorter ones, except Fate Lies Ahead, were, with the others, taken down by August Dozon some fifty years ago. As nearly as possible he reproduced the sounds of the spoken language on paper and published the tales with a grammar and vocabulary. The longer ones come from the work of Holger Persen, Profesor of Philology at the University of Copenhagen.

3 JONES, LLOYD. Biografi: A Traveller's Guide.
Harcourt, Inc., San Diego: 1994. 0156001284 / 9780156001281 First American Edition. s Softcover. Good condition.
In 1991, with communism in tatters throughout Eastern Europe, Lloyd Jones took it into his head to journey halfway around the globe from New Zealand to a most unlikely destination: Albania. (He was intrigued in particular by stories of a village dentist who had serv ed as a look-alike double of nthe late Albanian dictator at countless public appearances for twenty years.) What Jones found at every turn in Albania was a relentlessly bizarre world of half-truths and fictions. In that world, your status and sometimes your life hinged on your biografi: the security dossier that was maintained on you and consulted - or reinvented - to suit the moment.
