Presents the author's view that "we have arrived, after long journeying, at a historical vantage point from which we can at last see where the wasteland ends and where a culture of human wholeness and fulfillment begins. We can now recognize that the fate of the soul is the fate of the social order; that if the fate of the soul is the fate of the social order; that if the spirit within us withers so too will all the world we build around us."
