A collection of thirty-one studies that aim to give a balanced view of the social structure of Israel. As a relatively new society undergoing a continual process of social change, this work shows that Israel offers ample opportunity for empirical research in the field of immigrant absorption, processes of modernization, crystalization of institutional frameworks, social class formation, and development of value orientations.
