6 CANET, SHERRILL. A La Carte: The Elements Of An Elegant Home.
Pointed Leaf Press, New York: First Edition. h Hardcover with dustjacket. Brand new book.
For New York-based interior designer Sherill Canet, the past is something to be recreated with relish and ambition. The decorator takes her cues from disparate periods, regions, and artifacts to craft an unmistakably refined aesthetic: eighteenth century French and English antiques, chinoiserie, painted furniture, Art Deco, the glamour of the Gilded Age, and the mansions that once dotted the Gold Coast of Long Island, New York - a region Canet also calls home - are all incorporated. Illustrated with principal photography by Michel Arnaud, A La Carte brings together Canet's work and commentary to create an exclusive tutorial on decorating in a range of elegant styles, from Old World traditional to chic and tailored. Contains over 200 color illustrations. Whether your library is a modern den or a gentleman's English country retreat, Canet's advice on choosing the room's essential elements is always keen - with comfort and function in mind. Incorporating a love of antiques and fine detail into all of her projects, Sherrill Canet creates gracious and comfortable settings which mix the old with the new, giving her clients' homes a classic and timeless appeal. Canet attended the Inchbald School of Design in London and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Fordham University. She has offices in Manhattan and Locust Valley, Long Island and Florida.

20 SANDERS, SCOTT. Picture Perfect: Designing The New American Family Home.
Pointed Leaf Press, New York: h Hardcover with dustjacket. Brand new book.
When given the task of furnishing their 9,000 square foot dream home, the Anderson family sought a designer who would not only share in but enrich their vision of the ideal family house. They found Scott Sanders, whose taste for clean-lined classicism and playful sense of nostalgia converged with the family's own aesthetic sensibility and life-style. Picture Perfect is at once the start-to-finish story of the Anderson home - as documented through original floor-plan drawings, color schematics, and Michel Arnaud's extensive photography - and the biography of a designer at the top of his form, perfecting his own fresh, unique style. Born in Piqua, Ohio, into a family of residential developers, Scott Sanders grew up surrounded by design. A graduate of Parsons The New School for Design, Sanders began his professional career at Ralph Lauren, where he created the company's first interior design department. Sanders founded Scott Sanders LLC, a New York-based design firm, in 2000, which specializes in residential interiors. Contains over 300 color illustrations.
